“Jim” as he was known by his family and friends was born January 25, 1946 in Moline, Illinois. Jim was a Vietnam veteran in the U.S. Army who received Honorable Discharge in 1974. He worked for International Harvester for 30 years.
After retirement, Jim chose to move to Olathe, Kansas to be closer to his brother and nieces and nephews. He was an avid runner and biker and spent many hours at the gym and could be found running a 5K, 10K or marathon most weekends.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Helen Fitzpatrick, and brothers, Joseph and Dennis. He is survived by his brother Richard and his wife Delores of Olathe, Kansas, and sister Karen of Mesa, Arizona as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim will be cremated according to his wishes and his ashes taken to Fort Leavenworth Cemetery.
