Jim was born on April 28, 1942, in Maryville, Missouri to Violet and Ray Keever. He attended Braddyville High School where he met his wife, Ann. Jim graduated from Sheridan High School and obtained a Bachelor of Education degree from Northwest Missouri State. Jim married his high school sweetheart Ann Livengood on January 21, 1962. He worked as an insurance underwriter for American Family Insurance for forty years working out of both the St Joseph, MO and Topeka, KS offices. Jim and Ann have two daughters, Jill (Theron) Krizek and Krista (Eric) Hardy. Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughters. Logan (Natalie) Krizek, Ellie and Hadley, Kaedyn (Dustin) Wilson, Addi Hardy and Quinton Hardy. Jim is also survived by his sister Kay Rhodes.
Jim was known for many things and he truly embodied that actions speak a thousand words. He didn’t have to say much but you always knew his passions and priorities. There was never any question that taking care of family was his top priority. He was always ready and willing to help with any project that the kids and grandkids had going. When he was not busy doing things for the family, he served his church as a trustee and did many repair and handyman jobs for the church. He also enjoyed Empty Nesters and coffee group with their church friends. More than anything, he treasured time spent with Ann throughout their sixty-four years of marriage.
Jim/Dad/Papa will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Heritage United Methodist Church (12850 Quivira Rd, Overland Park, KS 66213) on April 25th at 2:00pm.
