She was born December 21, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Aloysius and Dorothy Gevermuehle.
Joan is survived by her husband Farro Giannola, at her side for 57 years in September, their sons Mike and his wife Tracey, Scott and his wife Janelle, Mark and his wife Becky and seven grandchildren, Casey, Cole and wife Emma, Austin, Tanner, Jason, Soren and Hadley.
Joan was a graduate of Notre Dame high school in St. Louis, Missouri. Joan was a dedicated mother first and foremost and treasured her boys with all her efforts and sacrifices. She then spent her time in the Lincoln, Nebraska school system as a paraprofessional and the last 20 years as a para in the Olathe, Kansas school system. After retiring Joan became a volunteer para in the Olathe school district. She was loved and gave a piece of her heart to the hundreds of children she worked with throughout the years.
Joan enjoyed painting, cooking, arts and crafts and taking care of her beloved cats. Joan was an avid Missouri Tigers fan. She also spent her time attending her grandchildren’s sports and school activities. She was a dedicated Catholic and member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, Kansas, and a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Burial following service at Resurrection Cemetery 83rd and Quivira Rd, Lenexa, Kansas with reception to follow.
