John Charles Gray

John Charles Gray, 69, of Olathe, Kansas was called home on May 16th, 2019. He was born on June 12, 1949 in Saint Joseph, Missouri, the son of Maurice “Jack” and Dora (Turpin) Gray. John graduated from Atchison High School in 1968. John joined the Navy in 1969 and proudly served his country for 6 years. After returning home he then attended VoTech and received a degree in welding. John worked several different types of jobs from farming, welding, security guard and then retired as a social worker for the State of Kansas. John’s hobbies were wood working, building ship models, being involved in church and spending time with his family. John married Ethel (Bader) Gray in November of 2003, she survived of the home.

Additional survivors include: brother, Robert "Bob" Gray & wife Denise of Sioux Falls, SD; Jack "Joe" Gray of Atchison, KS; 2 daughters, Stormi Zacharias & husband Anthony of Wathena, KS and Holly Olson & husband Paul of Olson, Perry, IA; 4 grandsons, Colton and Jason Berry, Keyton Yandell and Wyatt Olson; 2 granddaughters, Kailin and Tailar Olson; one niece and one nephew. John was preceeded in death by his parents.
