

José Ángel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was centered around his family. He shared 33 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, his wife, Araceli. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. His family was his entire world, and he loved them deeply, always putting them first.
He was a dedicated and hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. Known for his strong work ethic, he worked for the Olathe School District for 10 years and later continued his career with Honda, always giving his best in everything he did.
Beyond his work, José Ángel was full of life. He was loving, intelligent, strong, and incredibly funny, with a sense of humor that could light up any room. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and cared for just by being his genuine self.
He had a strong, beautiful voice and loved to sing, often filling the room with music. He especially enjoyed Mexican music and never missed an opportunity to dance and show off his moves, bringing joy and laughter to everyone around him. His energy was contagious, and his presence brought happiness wherever he went.
José Ángel also had a deep love for soccer from a young age. He enjoyed not only watching and talking about the game, but also playing it—something that brought him great joy throughout his life.
A faithful and devoted Catholic, José Ángel loved God deeply and remained strong in his faith. He prayed often and found comfort, strength, and peace in his devotion.
He cherished the simple moments in life—going on walks outside with his dogs, spending time with his beloved wife, and being surrounded by his children and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Araceli; his children, Enrique, Julio, Diana, Nancy, and Laura; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind many cherished relatives and friends.
José Ángel will be remembered for his warm, comforting hugs, his unforgettable laughter, and the joy he brought into every moment. His love, strength, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Oak Hills Presbyterian Church, 5638 Goddard St., Shawnee, Kansas 66203, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM followed by the funeral service at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at 12:30 PM at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 13901 S Black Bob Rd., Olathe, Kansas 66062. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM at Sonoma Hill, 8875 Maurer Ct., Lenexa, Kansas 66219.
