She was born on January 24, 1944, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to the late Margarette Emma Chaszar and Newton Roscoe Timmons. Judy graduated from Leavenworth Senior High School in 1962. On May 11, 1970, she married her beloved husband, Russell Hill Jr., with whom she shared a beautiful life until his passing in 2012. Up until her final months, she cherished her lifelong connections, faithfully attending monthly lunch outings with her high school classmates.
Judy was known for her real kindness, a deep love for her family, and a welcoming spirit that extended to everyone she met. She spent a great deal of her time in selfless service to others, frequently caring for extended family members and friends whenever they were in need. As her daughter frequently said, Judy “gave without remembering and received without forgetting.” She was famous for sending out Hallmark cards for everyone’s birthdays, never missing a single one. Just as much as she loved her family, she loved the Lord and was unwavering in her patriotism. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she could always be found at her grandchildren‘s sporting events cheering them on from the sidelines.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Hill and wife Tamela of Olathe, Kansas, and her daughter, Brandi Heitmann and husband Andy of De Soto, Kansas. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Mike Hill and wife Donna of Tucson, Arizona, Cynthia Breitenbach of Lecompton, Kansas, and Roger Hill and wife Caryn of Bennett, Colorado; her beloved grandchildren, Parker Hill, Garrett Heitmann and wife Molly, Mason Heitmann, Cole Heitmann, Sabrina Huiras and husband Sean, Erica Hill, Shawn Hill and wife Jennifer, Cody Breitenbach, Hayley DeGraeve and husband Austin, Olivia Breitenbach, Jason Hill, Adam Hill and wife Becky, and Nikole Good; 10 cherished great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Hill Jr.; her parents, Margarette and Newton; her two brothers, James Timmons and Donald Timmons; and her sisters-in-law, Dottie Timmons and Cathy Timmons.
A celebration of life will be held on a future date to be determined. Judy will be laid to rest with her husband at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
