“Kathy” as she was known by her family and friends was born in Powell Wyoming October 28,1955 to the parents of Charles J. and Mary Jane (Eaton) Diver. A child of an oil company family, Kathy moved often while her father advanced through different positions with Marathon Oil.
Living in many states her deepest roots were placed in Anchorage Alaska where she graduated from East Anchorage High School. After earning her teaching degree from the University of Northern Colorado she immediately returned to Alaska to start her teaching career. Taking positions in Nome, Kotzebue and eventually back in Anchorage where she was the director of Hope Cottages helping disabled children.
She made a career transition and began working for the Nordstrom company in Anchorage. There she married and adopted two children. After numerous advancements with Nordstrom, she retired as the regional manager for the Midwest Operations. Kathy and family were now living in Kansas City, and she embarked on a new position with the University of Kansas in the Bursar’s office where she eventually retired.
Kathy leaves behind many friends who cherished her giving and charitable soul. Always one to help, her kind heart and willingness to help others will be missed by many. Kathy leaves behind two sons Charlie and Bobby as well as two brothers Kevin and Bill and many nieces and nephews. May you finally find peace and solitude in the arms of the Lord.
