Kenneth Lee Johnson 90, of Olathe, Kansas passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 4, 2018. He will be forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, PaPa and friend to everyone he met.
Kenny as he was known by his family and friends was born on October 2, 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas to Charles and Leola Bell (Jones) Johnson. He attended and graduated from Wyandotte High School. After graduation he served his country honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard, and coincidentally, August 4th is the Coast Guard’s date of inception. Kenny then went on to work as a Telephone Repair Technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone from which he retired with 37 years of service. Kenny married the love of his life, Helen Jeanene McNatt on February 14th, 1954. Through this union together they raised their two children, Craig and Janet.
Kenny had a passion for bowling, fishing, baseball, playing Solitaire, and Crossword Puzzles, and drives in the country, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Nothing gave him more pleasure than spending time with them. He will be sadly missed.
Kenny was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Leola Johnson, and one brother, Keith Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years of marriage, Jeanene Johnson, of the home, one son Craig Allen Johnson and wife Barbara of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and one daughter, Janet Lee Williams and husband Mike of DeSoto, Kansas. Left behind to cherish their “PaPa” are 8 grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. God blessed Kenny before his passing with the birth of his 17th great grandchild, Jones Allen McCamish, born on August 3, 2018. Kenny also leaves behind a wonderful brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and three nephews. Kenny is also survived by their loving pets of the home, Mollie and Muffin.
The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Monticello United Methodist Church, 23860 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas 66227. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment in Monticello Union Cemetery, Shawnee, Kansas.

Sunvale, Olathe, Kansas 66061, and Monticello United Methodist Church at 23860 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas 66227.
