Leone Ponton Edmondson

Leone M. Edmondson, 91, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Leone was born on December 9, 1922 in Lamar, Kansas. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lee Ponton Sr. who were formerly from Delphos, Kansas. She married Earl Edmondson Jr. on December 4, 1940.

Leone is preceded in death by her parents Harry Lee and Mary (Alderson) Ponton, her loving husband Earl Edmondson, infant daughter Vicky Lynn Edmondson, grandson Jeffry Edmondson, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her two sons Merle Edmondson of Louin, Mississippi, Jeff Edmondson and his wife Esther of Gardner, Kansas and one daughter Sandy Garms and her husband T. Larry Garms of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild who is on the way.

The family would like to thank Continua Hospice and Dr. Rita Oplotnik for the wonderful care they provided for their mother during her illness.

Leone was cremated according to her wishes. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 E. Loula St. Olathe, Kansas.
