Mabel Peterson

Mabel M. Peterson, 97, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Good Samaritan in Olathe, KS. A private family remembrance is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Good Samaritan Society of Olathe or the Olathe Medical Center Charitable Foundation.

Mabel was born on November 22, 1913, in Chester County, PA, and was the daughter of B. Frank and Maude Thompson. She married Lloyd (Pete) Peterson on Feb. 21, 1951, and they made their home in Atchison, KS, until 2004. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Atchison. Her two grandsons were the lights of life; she especially enjoyed having them spend "vacation" time in Atchison as well as coming to Olathe to watch their baseball and soccer games as they grew up.

Mabel is survived by a daughter, Pam (Richard) Summers, Olathe; grandsons Scott (Rita) Summers, Olathe and Curt Summers, Shawnee; great-grandson Tegan Summers and great-granddaughter Brinley Summers. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and all seven of her siblings.
