
Marilyn J. Gibson, 79, of Gardner, KS., passed away at home on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Marilyn was born on July 19, 1932 in Chillicothe, MO., to Ollie James and Susan Colene (Courtney) Watson. She graduated from Hamilton High School and continued her education earning a degree as an X-Ray Technician.
Marilyn had an admiration for the men and women who served our country proudly. She would offer her continued support for their honorable service. Her final wish was to be among the many veterans laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. She enjoyed reading, books and articles concerning our country’s Veterans and books about the military were her most favorite.
Marilyn is preceded in death by: her father, Ollie James Watson; her husband of 56 years, Charles (C.R.) Gibson and her beloved granddaughter, Bethany Nicole Gibson.
Survivors include her 105 year old mother, Susan Colene Watson; son, David Alan Gibson and his wife Linell of Olathe, KS., and daughter, Laura Gibson Berends of Greeley, CO. Marilyn is also survived by her sister, Cheryl Kavanaugh and her husband Paul of Hamilton, MO.
