Marjorie A. Leitner, 80, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away August 13, 2018, at 11:45 AM. Services will be on Thursday, August 16th at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Wea, Kansas with visitation at 4:00 PM, Funeral Mass at 5:00 PM followed by private burial at a later date. Marjorie was born May 28, 1938 in Tescott, Kansas to Arthur A. and Carrie V. (Warren) Urbanek. She was the second of two children. Marjorie was raised in Topeka, Kansas and graduated Hayden High School in 1955, graduated nursing school from Saint Margaret’s Hospital in 1959 and worked as an Registered Nurse at various hospitals and clinics until her retirement in 1987. Marjorie was married to Stephen Anthony Leitner, Jr. in Topeka, Kansas, December 28, 1957. The couple had eight children. They lived in Kansas City, Kansas from 1959 to 1973, resided at Gardner Lake, Kansas from 1973 to 2009 and finally settled in Olathe, Kansas. She is survived by her sister, Joan Browne of Albuquerque, New Mexico, six children and numerous grandchildren. She was the center of a large family, lived well and died with dignity. She will be missed.
