Mark Allen Shockey, 58, of Edgerton, Kansas passed away at home on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. He will forever be remembered as a devoted father, loving grandfather, son, uncle and friend to everyone he met. Mark was born on October 2, 1961 in Hastings, Nebraska to Richard and Marcella (Dane) Shockey.
He attended and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He was an avid fisherman, a dedicated Chiefs and Huskers fan and spent his leisure time taking care of his beloved dogs, “Mickey", “Katie", and “Charlie Brown”. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, and nothing gave him more pleasure in life than the time he spent with his two grandsons, Welden and Levi.
Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Marcella (Dane) Shockey. He is survived by his father, Richard Shockey of York, Nebraska; sister, Pam Shockey of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brother, Todd Shockey of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter, Kiya Shockey of Omaha, Nebraska; and his son, Kyle Shockey of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Left behind to cherish his memory are his two grandsons, Welden Osborne and Levi Shockey. He will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.
Mark will be cremated according to his wishes. A “Celebration of Life” will take place on Saturday, July 25th at his home in Edgerton, Kansas.
