Martha Anne Pollard Joyce

Martha Anne Joyce, 65, of Olathe, Kansas passed away suddenly on Monday, January 12, 2015. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife; loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met.

Martha was born on January 28, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Gorman B. and Jennie C. (Eudaly) Pollard. The family moved to Dallas TX when she was three and she attended and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She married James Joyce of Stamps, AR in 1968 and had two daughters. She has lived in many places including Del Rio TX, Abilene TX, Thailand, Little Rock AR, Houston TX, Lake Dallas TX, Tampa FL, and Olathe KS, with her family as her husband pursued his career. She earned her associates degree as an Interpreter at Johnson County Community College, and has worked there and at other colleges and medical facilities.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jack Pollard, Tom Pollard and brother-in-law Gay Jared. She is survived by her husband of 46 years James Joyce of the home, two daughters, Gretchen E. Kaderli and her husband Ray of Winchester, Virginia, and Laura M. Cupp and her husband Tim of Fort Worth, Texas. Left behind to cherish her memory are her six grandchildren, Erin Cupp, Jamie Joyce-England, Elise Kaderli, Carly Kaderli, Anna Kaderli, and Elijah Kaderli, three step grandchildren, Lindsey Koenig, Marcie Clarke, and Cameron Cupp, and nine great grandchildren, Ashton, Aiden, Carson, Payton, Jayleigh, Sparrow, Lucy, Hyrum and Juliet.

She will be sadly missed by her brother Jerry Pollard and his wife Linda of Rockwall, Texas and Sister Jennie L. Jared of Garland, Texas.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Countryside Baptist Church 14150 West 175th Street Olathe, Kansas. Burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery 9501 West 159th Street Overland Park, Kansas. Visitation will be 6:00-7:30p.m.Tuesday, January 20th at the church. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Countryside Baptist Church.
