Mary Margaret Jones, 83, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020. She was born on August 28, 1937 in Kansas City, MO to the late Louis Weber and Mary Carol Davenport. Mary lived most of her life in Kansas. She worked at Southwestern Bell for 32 years where she held many positions, advancing to a highly technical job of Switching Technician. Mary unquestioningly helped raise three of her granddaughters for two years, after the passing of their mother. She adored her only child and her pets, USUALLY in that order. Mary collected and sold high quality pocket knives for several years. She received many awards for her precise trap shooting and won the 100 targets pin as well. She met her great friend Ellen Moreland shooting trap and the two of them loved going to Starlight Theater and the Dinner Theater together. Mary loved to travel the world and visited places like: Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Alaska, the Panama Canal, Hawaii, Egypt, Turkey, Ireland (she was in Ireland during 9/11), Monaco, the Mediterranean and many more. Survivors include her beloved son, Rick Singers and his wife, Cheryl; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the many wonderful staff at Anthology of Olathe for their true love and support of Mary over the last two years. Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 2:00pm at the McGilley and Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula St., Olathe, KS. We will also have the service live streamed for those that would choose to stay home and celebrate Mary’s life. She definitely loved her strawberry shakes!
