Merle Lee Jackson, passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on January 25, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri, Merle was a devoted and compassionate man who dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his faith.
Merle was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he honorably served for eight years. He was known for being hard-working, honest, and kind-hearted, traits that he carried throughout his life.
Merle was a faithful and loving husband to his wife, Carol A. Jackson. Together, they raised a beautiful family that includes two sons, Brett Jackson and his wife Darcy, Preston Jackson and his wife Kari, two daughters, Becky Busenhart and her husband Chris, and Katie Robson, along with her companion Travis Williams. Merle was preceded in death by his daughter Sally Cumley.
Merle's legacy lives on through his nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His priorities in life were clear: "For the Love of God," "For the Love of Your Family," and "For the Love of Your Country." His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home located at 105 E. Loula Street, Olathe, Kansas, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. Immediately following the funeral service, Merle will be laid to rest at Olathe Memorial Cemetery, 738 North Chestnut Street, Olathe, Kansas.
