Mikayla Katrina Dill, 26, was born June 30, 2000, in Olathe, Kansas, and died July 23, 2026. She resided in Belton, Missouri. Mikayla will be remembered with deep respect and enduring love by all who knew her, for the bright, spirited way she moved through life and the unmistakable warmth she brought to those around her.
A visitation will be held at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 105 E. Loula Street, Olathe, KS 66061, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A memorial service will follow at the same location on August 4, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Mikayla’s early years included the opportunity to attend a few different schools throughout her educational path, experiences that helped shape her into a young woman who could adapt with confidence and meet change with steady resolve.
For more than eight years, Mikayla shared life with her fiancé, Jacob Long. Together they welcomed a son, Xavier Reece Long, who was the center of her world and the heart of so much of her joy.
Mikayla found happiness outdoors—camping, hiking, and swimming—drawn to open skies and fresh air with an adventurous spirit that made even ordinary days feel a little bigger. She also enjoyed cooking, and she treasured time with family, especially time spent with her son. And to those who knew her well, Mikayla’s love of iced coffee was a familiar, affectionate detail of daily life.
Mikayla had a generous way of caring for others, often expressed through thoughtful gifts—her love language, offered freely and with genuine delight. She was open and unmistakably honest, the kind of person whose sincerity you could count on, and whose humor and sassy spark could lighten a room without ever diminishing her deep capacity to love. Her creative spirit also shone through in the tattoos by which she expressed herself—marks of meaning, memory, and individuality that reflected the life she lived with heart.
Mikayla is survived by her parents: father and stepmother, Paul and Tammy Dill; and mother and stepfather, Justina and Timothy Brister. She is also survived by four siblings, Michael Dill, Jacqulynn Dill, Holly Dill, and Keegan Dill; and grandparents Ray and Barbara Dill, Bonnie Brister, and Dub Erwin. She also leaves behind several aunts and uncles and cousins that meant the world to her.
Mikayla was preceded in death by her aunt, Kristy Ard; her grandparents, Jerry and Becky Ard; and her grandmother Emma Erwin.
