

Nathan Neil Longhorn, 70, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, papa, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he knew.
Nathan was born on February 3, 1951 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ernest Frank and Vergie Mae (Roberts) Longhorn. He attended and graduated from Earlsboro High School in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He earned his Associates Degree from Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas and went on to have a lengthy career with and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration. He later met the love of his life Rosanne Armour and they were married on November 10, 1971. Together they raised their three children Shawna, Nathan II and Stephanie. He served as a member with the K.C. Indian Center and with the Human Resource Commissions for the City of Olathe.
Nathan enjoyed traveling, attending Pow-Wows, Stomp Dances and spending time with his family. Nothing gave him more pleasure in life than the time he spent with his grandchildren and especially his great grandson. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Nathan is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Alice Precious Rose Long and two sisters Cynthia Longhorn and Vonnie Garza. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Rosanne Longhorn of the home, son Nathan Longhorn II and his wife Jennifer of Fresno, California, daughters Shawna Longhorn of Moore, Oklahoma and Stephanie Longhorn of Olathe, Kansas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his six grandchildren Jovana Friday, Sylas High Hawk Long, Lakota Longhorn, Nialisa Longhorn, Grace Longhorn-Nakagawa, Justin Longhorn and great grandson Miles James Friday. Nathan is also survived by his two brothers Ewell Longhorn and his wife Terri of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Joel Longhorn of Shawnee, Oklahoma, four sisters Vivian Shane of Crow, Montana, Avis Longhorn of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Weda Longhorn of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Twila Parker and her husband Rusty of Choctaw, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, January 15, 2022, at Horseshoe Bend, 46309 Garrett's Lake Rd., Shawnee, Oklahoma, 74804. Interment in Johnson Cemetery Shawnee, Oklahoma.
