

Nelson was born on January 25, 1954, in Middlebury, IN, to Joas “Yup” and Marie (Troyer) Beachy. His love for people, wildlife and the mountains were never ending. He always filled a room with laughter and stories, but he was most famous for his jokes and cooking.
He loved to travel with his job at first, but then began traveling with his family on unforgettable vacations. Everyday knowing him was a grand adventure and he was always willing to offer a hand. He will forever be missed.
Nelson is survived by his two children, Jenifer Beachy of Blue Springs, MO, and Jon (Denise) Beachy of Powell, Wyoming; four granddaughters: Alisha Beachy, Katherine (Cameron) Lee, Elizabeth Elliott, and Kaitlyn Beachy; five siblings: Leonard (Michelle) Beachy of West Chester, PA, Naomi Lenoci of Streamwood, IL, Glenn (Martha) Beachy of Kaneohe, HI, Willard (Donna) Beachy of Middlebury, IN, and Lois (Dan) Stimax of Sarasota, FL. He is preceded in by death by his parents, sister, Mary Louis Deisinger-Jennings, and brother, Dewey Beachy.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 1-3:30pm at the American Legion Post 153, 401 East Dennis Avenue, Olathe, KS 66061.
