Nicole Leigh Kirk, 48, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020. She will forever be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend to everyone she met. “Nicki” as she was known to her family and friends, was born on November 22, 1971 in Olathe, Kansas to Douglas and Vicki Jones. She was recently employed at the Johnson County Public Defender’s Office in Olathe, Kansas.
She attended and graduated from Olathe North High School. She was involved in gymnastics and music in her early childhood years. She enjoyed gardening, holidays, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the times she spent with her three nieces, Mikaela, Kyndall, and Lyndsey. As an animal lover, her love for her dogs held a special place in her heart. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Critical Care Team Unit staff at Olathe Medical Center for their loving care and attention shown to Nicole. She will be forever missed.
Nicki is preceded in death by her father, Douglas Jones, paternal grandmother, Icie Jones, maternal grandmother, Marjorie Campbell, and her uncle Leonard Jones, and her uncle James Jones. She is survived by her loving mother Vicki Jones of Olathe, Kansas, sister, Lesli Jackson and her husband Don of Olathe, Kansas, three nieces, Mikaela, Kyndall, and Lyndsey Jackson, aunt Janice Jones of Waldron, Arkansas, uncle Henry Caenen and aunt Frances of Tonganoxie, Kansas, four cousins, Justin Jones, Terri Hattabaugh, Larry Caenen and Gary Caenen. She is also survived by numerous extended family nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, July 25th at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Olathe Health System.
