We gather here today with heavy hearts, yet also with a sense of gratitude, to celebrate the life of Patricia Ann Williams. Born on November 21st, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Patricia's journey through life was one marked by love, family, and a playful spirit. She entered this world the daughter of the late Robert and Thelma Bell, and was later embraced and cherished by her adoptive parents, Ross and Julia Thompson.
For Patricia, family wasn't just important – it was everything. Her heart overflowed with love for her children, Gene Jr., Michele, Larry and his wife Ana Mae, and Christopher and his wife Michele. The joy in her life multiplied with the arrival of her sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. You could always find Patricia happily surrounded by them, whether she was sharing stories, talking about her books, or engaging in some arts and crafts.
Patricia had a wonderful way of connecting with the younger generations, and one of her favorite pastimes was joining in on video games helping them solve puzzles and create maps. It wasn't just about playing; it was about sharing moments, laughter, and creating lasting memories. This playful spirit was just one of the many threads that made up the rich tapestry of her personality.
In Ava, Missouri, Patricia found a companionship when she married Gene Williams. Together, they built a family that was central to her world.
While we mourn her passing, we also remember those who went before her. Patricia is preceded in death by all of her parents, her brother David Harris, her sister Shirley Thompson, and her son David Williams, the father of her children Gene Williams. Though they are no longer with us, we trust they have welcomed her with open arms.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on through her surviving children, Gene Jr., Michele, Larry and his wife Ana, and Christopher and his wife Michele, as well as her beloved sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. The echoes of her laughter, the warmth of her embrace, and the memories of her playful spirit will forever be etched in their hearts.
We will come together to further celebrate Patricia's life and share our memories at a gathering on Friday, May 16th, at 2:00 PM at the McGilley and Fry Funeral Home, located at 105 East Loula Street, Olathe, Kansas.
Though we say goodbye for now, we hold onto the cherished memories of Patricia – a loving mother, a doting grandmother and great-grandmother(gigi), and a woman who knew the true meaning of family. May she rest in peace.
