Richard Odera Mbeche

Richard was born on March 9th 1940 to the late Ishmael Mbeche Ang’wech and Elizabeth Jomoko Mbeche, he was married to the late Jane Odera Mbeche of Asembo on July 6th 1966 and were blessed with eight children; Millicent Okeyo, the late Christine Akinyi, Rosemary Atieno, Catherine Odhiambo, Bernard Kasuku, John D’mello, Kenneth Ishmael, Betty Mbeche. Three sons-in-Law; Michael Okeyo, Chrispine Ogut and Solomon Swango and three daughters-in law; Hellen Achieng’, Philgona Achieng’ and Hannah Ngwiri.17 grandkids Caroline, Ben, Ishmael, Vitus, Jane Tina, Veronica, Tom, Jane Christine, Ezra, Chris, Jane Lucy, Haula, Richard Ben (RB), Jane Lillian, Beth, Malaykah Jane, Malkiyah. 4 great grandkids Richie, Alicia, Jamaine and Keisha.

Brother to the late Bernard Ogada, late Sophie, Judith, Zilpa and Margaret. Son-in-law to the late Benjamin, Esther and Hellen Osiga. Brother-in-law to Dina, Cloy, Rebecca, Late Julia, Betha, the late Caroline, Margaret, the late Titus Okolla, the late Agrrey Dok, the late Sam Agwanda, the late Joseph Mboya, James Jamwa, the late Walter Onyango, the late Wellington Oyaro, Alfred Onyango, the late Achilles Okatch, the late James Wasonga, the late George Ogum, and Martin Orao. Longtime friend to the late Fred Hallier and Ruth Hallier and their family and many uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews as well as many cherished friends both in Kenya and the U.S.

He graduated from Kijabe High School and proceeded to KDF school, at Lanet where he trained as a Cadet officer but later on changed profession to the banking industry . Richard worked at the Stanchart Bank Kisumu and Moi Avenue branches before joining the head office as a manager at the Internal Control Audit Department until his retirement in 1995. in 1998 he relocated to Missouri, U.S.A where he lived with the late Fred Hallier and Ruth Hallier who were like family to him. In the U.S he worked at the Midwest Material Management until 2016.

Richard was a Kind, Patient, soft spoken, loving and God-fearing man who loved his Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of the Restoration Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ.

Richard was and is still loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He was darling to his grandkids and everyone whom he interacted with. “We shall meet again on that beautiful shore”
