We are so sorry to hear of your loss.  Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.  May your precious and sweet memories give you comfort and peace.

Trying to find adequate words to express what a precious gem our sweet cousin Dickey truly was. There were nine of us, Dickey, Bev, Gina, Frankie, Ellen, Mitch, me, my brothers Tommy, and David. And we were best friends! Holidays and summers we were all together at Grandma and Grandpa Daves farm. That eighty acre farm was better than any amusement park ever! Grandpa had a little trailer to pull behind the tractor. He would say "load up replants" {that was us} and off we went for another adventure. Dickey was born in February 1960 and I was born in July of the same year. So he always reminded me that he was older. And I always said but only by four months or so!I remember the summer Frankie, Ellen, and Mitch had moved to Texas with Aunt Eunie and Uncle Frank. So our parents decided we were all going there to visit. Most of us learned to swim that year in some big lake. This world lost a loving, caring, gentle soul but I bet the angles are rejoicing over Dickey's arrival. Sending hugs and prayers to all of our family. I love you all.

Dick always had this cheerful attitude here at work.  You could tell he had a sense of humor by his tone.  He was so pleasant to be around.  I still here his voice in my memory calling me from the plant, "Hey Kathy, this is Dick".   I knew he needed me to answer a quick question or find someone for him.   I don't think I ever saw him in a bad mood.  He is already missed.

They say cousins are some of your first best friends. I look back on all the good times my brother Frank, my sister Ellen and I had with our cousins Dicky, Bev, Gina, Cathy, Tommy and David, and I can tell you it was true for me.
We spent a lot of time together at Grandpa and Grandma Dave’s farm; camping out at the pond and fishing, riding the tractor to the creek and playing in the barn. Also at family reunions in Fort Scott. Fishing, playing horse shoes and our annual softball game; we had so much fun. Very fond memories! 
My cousin Dick was a great guy; good natured, always happy and cracking jokes.  You always had a good time when he was around. He was very kind and I know heaven is brighter now that he is there. 
We will all miss you Dicky. Keep heaven smiling until we see you again!

To all the family, we are so very sorry. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Love you all.

Dick was such a kind and gentle soul, and quite the character at work. He will be missed!

As children my sister Cathy and I always looked forward to seeing our cousins Dick, Bev, and Gina from K.C. Whether it was at Grandpa Dave's farm in Crestline, or Uncle Loui and Aunt Florence's home we just loved being with our cousins. Over my fifth Christmas holiday, Dick taught me to play chess. A few years later down on the farm in Grandpa's front yard one Summer day, Dick taught me how to toss a baseball up and hit it with a bat so we could play 500. Dick was always supportive of me, and would tell me many times growing up how fast a runner or how good an athlete I was. He taught me to appreciate sports, to take winning and losing in stride, and about sportsmanship. One Christmas around 1968 or so we watched a movie at Grandpas (Jason and the Argonauts) where in a scene  a couple of the warriors greeted each other with a double hug. Dick and I started using that as our greeting and farewell that Christmas and continued it all our lives. We had great times as children and later when I moved to K.C. as men. Dick was always optimistic and fun to be around. He had the best outlook on life of anyone I've ever known.
I'm gonna miss you buddy. Even though this world is a little bit of a sadder place without you in it, I know heaven is a warmer place with you there.
