After college at Emporia State, he started E & S Landscaping (including water sprinklers) with his best friend Dave Smith. Following several years working with the Kansas Rural Water Association, he started Heartland Waterworks Supply, Inc. with his business partner, Cheryl Hibdon.
In his spare time, Bob loved hunting, fishing, and the annual river rafting week with the guys at Eleven Point. He even taught his nieces and nephew how to fly fish at the pond.
Bob was a private person with a very big heart and a passion for dogs, sports, and gardening. He was always available to help a friend, give anonymously to those who needed help, or pick up family at the airport. He loved dogs and often brought strays to his parent’s farm. He even “dog sat” for friends. Bob loved to watch sports on television. College and pro sports (especially golf) were on his TV mainstays. Bob’s garden was a showpiece with gorgeous plants.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Colleen Ewan and his younger brother, Tom Ewan. Surviving family include his girlfriend of 23 years, Diana Sue White, his sister, Susie Dunaway, his sister-in-law Pam Ewan, nieces Eileen McNeil and Katie Dunaway, and nephew, Dusty Ewan. Many friends and his bowling buddies will miss him as well.
