She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Helen E. (Nobert) and Marvin F. Morgan. Born and raised in Kansas City, Sherie moved to Chicago after graduating with honors from St. Mary College in Leavenworth. She worked as a VISTA volunteer before re-locating to Detroit, where she embarked on a 30- year career as a social worker for the state of Michigan. In retirement, Sherie moved to Olathe to be closer to family. She was intelligent, outspoken and a rowdy Chiefs fan. She was a much-loved daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin.
Sherie will be forever missed by her surviving family: her devoted sister who helped care for Sherie for many years, Jan (Bob) Hamilton; brother Michael (Nancy) Morgan; Beth Ann (Frank) Murphy; nieces and nephews Michael (with whom Sherie was especially close) and Jared Hamilton; Melanie, Lance and Brett (Nina) Morgan; Gavin (Erin) Brady and Erin (Shane) Duggin; and 13 great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A visitation is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 21650 W 115th Terrace, Olathe, KS 66061, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. A luncheon will be provided from 12:00-1:00 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 1:30 at Queen of Holy Rosary Church Cemetery in Wea, KS.
