I consider myself fortunate to have known Doreen for over three years. She was one of the smartest, honest, and most optimistic people I have ever known. For one to have known her was to have known a truly inspiring and wonderful person. Her foresight and sagacious personality represent something special that I hope to emulate in life. Thank you making me a better person Doreen. I will always keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

To Cheryl, family and friends of Doreen. I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear sister. This time of year is about hope, and it is so difficult to face the future without your loved one. May you all feel Doreen's special love in your hearts, giving you courage and inspiration to live life with compassion and kindness toward others as she did.

My sincerest condolences and prayers to your entire family in this difficult time.  I had the pleasure of working with Doreen at both NYCE and Saylent for over 12 years.  If fact she was my first boss @ NYCE.  Her always positive attitude, love of life and her endless sense of travel and adventure will never be forgotten.  Her beautiful soul has left lasting impressions on everyone who knew her.  She will never be forgotten.  Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Anyone reading these messages knows that  Doreen had a rare gift for making each of us feel special, that what we cared about was important to her, that what she cared about most was helping each of us to have a better day. Whether an unexpected on-line "thinking of you", or her straightforward advice, or just truly listening, Doreen's gift of life touched more people than we undoubtedly all knew. She shared with me, more than once, that she was truly happy -- with her work, with her life, with her family, and of course, with her beloved Jeff. May we all take a page from the book of Doreen, do the things you most enjoy, do them honestly and well, and do them in honor of what she brought so uniquely to each of us. I will be always grateful for the honor of her friendship.

Doreen, I am missing your "Good morning Jay" with a sunshine smiley. I believe you are in a better place now free of pain and all troubles. I am so glad I had the wonderful chance of working with you and for you, and knowing you as a friend. You will always be remembered and cherished.

Thank you and God bless you for being part of Doreen's life.  To know Doreen means you were lucky to be touched by an angel. I feel I am the luckiest person in the world to have shared the last eight years with Doreen. To those of you who knew Doreen, you knew how much she enjoyed life. This included going to the beach to work on a tan, boogie boarding in the water, planning vacations for us (or helping others with theirs), going to restaurants, listening and singing to country music, going to concerts, and eating chocolate ice cream or chocolate chip pancakes depending on the time of day.  
I had once asked her mother, “How would you describe Doreen?” Without hesitation she said, “Unique.” Doreen was indeed so UNIQUE. Not only did she possess such a dynamic personality, but she also had the most positive attitude and sense of practicality.  She carried this practicality over from her personal life to her business life as well.  Regardless of the situation she always based her decisions on facts, logic, and common sense. I believe she had more sensibility than anyone I've ever known and will probably ever know. Doreen taught me that when I had a problem, all I had to do was to “Turn It Around.” She was always the eternal optimist and knew how to turn a negative into a positive.
In the short wonderful eight years I spent with Doreen, her life was filled with love for and from her family. She would call her mother twice a day just to say hello and her mother would always lend a hand when needed.  To her sister Cheryl and brother-in-law, Joe – Doreen always spoke fondly of you both and was grateful to have you part of her life.  Doreen always worried and cared about her niece, Theresa and her nephew, Michael. She enjoyed watching them grow into the wonderful adults they are today. In addition, Doreen loved being that special friend to my daughters, Jessica and Alyssa. 
Doreen enjoyed walking on the boardwalk with her childhood friend, Karen and going to Starbucks with Joe Mac when she worked at NYCE. She also enjoyed having fun with our friends Richard and Elizabeth, and Carol Ann and Bob. In the summer, she enjoyed catching up with all our friends at Bradley Beach. 
Doreen had two different jobs over the past eight years I spent with her. She worked at NYCE and made a strong bond with two wonderful people, Susan and Elaine; I am so happy that you both were touched by my special angel. The last 6 years she spent working at Saylent Technologies and I know how grateful she was to have a position with this company. Working for Saylent made a huge difference in her life. Her dream came true by being able to wear her pajamas and slippers as her work clothes. I would like to thank Russell for recommending Doreen to apply for the position, Tyson and Sharon for hiring her, and Cheryl for working closely with Doreen for the best six years of her career. She loved this company so much!
One of Doreen's most favorite past times was driving her Corvette, which she would only drive on bright and sunny days.  All the other days of the year she made sure it was detailed and stored underneath a soft cover in her garage. Of the myriad activities she enjoyed, driving her Corvette was her absolute favorite. 
In closing, I have a short story to share with you all. Doreen was a country girl on the weekends and loved wearing her cowgirl hats and boots (a look that suited her quite well). One day while we were out and about, a man stopped us and asked, “How many horses do you have?” She hesitated for a moment, lifted her head and looked the man in the eyes, and then said, “I have 436 horses in the shape of a metallic orange Corvette. How many do you have?” There was no response and the man walked away. That was a perfect example of how to “turn it around”. This is but one of many examples of Doreen's wit, fortitude, and positivity.
Finally, I will leave you with this- When Doreen and I would go out dancing together, we would request a special song called, Heaven Must be Missing an Angel.
Now we know, that this angel is no longer missing from heaven.

We are very sad for the serious loss that had affected your family. In these moments you never know what to say and the words don't seem to make sense. Even for brief moments we had the good fortune to know and for this we will in our hearts and memories. Even if we are away we are very close with our thoughts and look forward to giving you our most sincere condolences. a hug for the whole family.

My deepest sympathies to Doreen's family and friends.  Doreen was one of the nicest people I've known.  She had many friends at NYCE and many of us kept in touch since she left NYCE.  I got to know her during the many trips I made to New Jersey and the conferences we attended. It was always fun to see her.  I haven't seen her as often now but we have since exchanged stories, many about trips to the Caribbean where I know she loved to vacation.  I'll miss talking with her I know everyone will miss her.
