Frank A. Battaglia

Frank A. Battaglia, 81, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in the Bronx, NY, Frank had lived in Staten Island before moving to Old Bridge 49 years ago. He worked for Electro Dynamic in Avenel for 19 years before working for Southwood Elementary in Old Bridge as head custodian for 20 years. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces; he enjoyed bicycling, carpentry, and reading stories to the children at Southwood. Frank was predeceased by his daughter, Regina Battaglia; his daughter in law, LeeEllen Battaglia; and his sister, Laura Block. He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie (Salemmo) Battaglia; his son, Jeffrey Battaglia; and his grandsons, Peter & Alex. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow to St. Peter's Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
