

James F. Devine, 83, died on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, New Jersey. Jimmy was born on December 22, 1931 in the Bronx, New York. He was a lifelong resident of the Bronx and parishioner of St. Barnabas Church before retiring to Lakewood, New Jersey. Jimmy was a communications equipment technician for Western Union and served his country in the United States Air Force. Jimmy earned his Bachelor Degree from Fordham University, spoke many foreign languages and was an active member of the American Legion. A wonderful and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend, Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His parents, Thomas and Katherine Devine, his sisters Margaret Deady and Katherine Guido, his brothers Thomas and the Rev. Stephen Devine and his longtime companion, Patricia Kiley, predeceased Jimmy. His brother, John Devine and sister, Mary Fanning and many loving nieces and nephews survive Jimmy. He was an extremely generous, kind, selfless and loving person. His counsel, friendship and good humor can never be replaced. He was one in a million.
