John J. Burke

Mr. Burke was a printing press operator for 45 years, having worked for Watts Printing Company, Ribner Business Forms, Reynolds & Reynolds, and Interstate Business Forms. He then started working for the Monmouth County Park System for 15 years, retiring in 1996. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed playing pool and was an avid golfer, achieving 3 “Holes In One”. He was much loved by all, and at every party, would sing at the very end, usually “Danny Boy”.

Mr. Burke was predeceased by his wife, Grace Burke, in 2010, his son, John J. Burke Jr., in 2002, his grandson, James R. Bargloski, in 1974, and his sister, Eileen M. Burke Hurst, in 1990. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Bargloski, of Forked River, his son and daughter in law, James R. & Cynthia Burke, of Old Bridge, his daughter, Karen Burke Whelan, of Howell, and his daughter in law, Trish Burke, of Jackson. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and his sister, Doris Rose Burke Wyckoff.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 6-9 pm and Wednesday, May 11 from 10-11am at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Route 9, Old Bridge, NJ, with a funeral service to begin at 11am on Wednesday. Interment will follow to the NJ Veteran Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
