

John “Johnny Twisty” Lanza, 85, of Old Bridge entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Born in New York City, NY he lived in Brooklyn most of his life before moving to Toms River then to Old Bridge where he has resided for the past 8 years.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a retired longshoreman of Brooklyn, NY and member of Local 1814, International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA). John enjoyed horses and the track but above all else he adored his grandchildren. He was devoted to the love of his life, the recently departed Theresa Marie (Dipolo) Lanza. Together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage and raised a loving family.
John is predeceased by his devoted and loving wife Theresa Marie (Dipolo) Lanza (2014), his dear son Nicholas Lanza (2013), his brothers Guy and Nicholas Lanza and his sister Josephine Brigante. He survived by his loving sons Edward of Staten Island, NY, Thomas of Spotswood, NJ and Lawrence of Brooklyn, NY; his brother Edward Lanza of Old Bridge, NJ; his adored grandchildren Rosemarie, April, Eddie, Anthony, Victoria, Tatianna, Nicholas and Zachary and his dear great-grandchildren Jaden, Max and Gianna.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home 3377 US Highway 9 Old Bridge, NJ 08857, a funeral prayer services will take place that evening at a time to be announced. Cremation services will be private followed by a 10 am Wednesday, July 22, 2015 military honors chapel service at General William C. Doyle Brigadier Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
