

LABAYEN, Kevin M., 26 of Marlboro died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Born in Jersey City he was moved to Marlboro with his family where they’ve resided for the past 23 years.
Kevin worked as a bartender for T.G.I. Friday’s in Marlboro. He received his associate’s degree in liberal arts from Brookdale Community College. Kevin was very athletic and full of energy; he enjoyed baseball, flag football and soccer and was a member of the Flyin’ Labayens & The Isotopes. He was very social and easily made friends, if Kevin walked into a room and he didn’t know you, you left as his friend. Kevin will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Surviving are Kevin’s loving parents; Norman F. and Debbie G. (Manuel) Labayen; his beloved brothers Brendan and Kyle; his cherished paternal grandmother Leonor (Fernandez) Labayen; his devoted paternal uncles and aunts, Jose, Enrico, Susan, Dinah, Cynthia, Rebecca, Olive and Theresa; his dearest maternal uncles and aunts, Jerry, Ricky, Edgar, Marco, Dinah, Cynthia and Cecile; and his many, many loving cousins.
Visitation will be held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home 3377 US Hwy 9 Old Bridge, NJ 08857 on Saturday, January 25th 7-9 pm and Sunday, January 26th 2-9 pm. Funeral prayer services will be officiated 8 pm Sunday, January 26th by Rev. John J. Werner of St. Ambrose RC Church, Old Bridge. Cremation services will be private.
