Leonora "Lee" Kolibas

Leonora "Lee" Kolibas died on Monday, May 28, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Rahway. She was born in Newark on January 2, 1927 to the late Sam and Concetta De Maio. Lee lived in Newark and worked at Westinghouse until she married her beloved husband John on October 17, 1948. The moved to Iselin in October of 1953 where they lived happily and raised their sons, Martin, of Iselin, and Richard, of Fords. During this time, she worked at J.C. Penney's in Menlo Park and then Revlon in Edison. She retired in 1973. Lee was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Cecelia's Church in Iselin. Each day she prayed the rosary. When she could no longer attend Mass, she watched the televised Masses.

In addition to her sons, Martin and Richard, she is survived by her daughters-in-law, Denise & Geraldine, and her grandchildren, Sean Kolibas of Old Bridge, Kimberly Peach and her husband, Daniel, of Cape Coral, Florida, Marie Kolibas and her companion, Travis Meli, of Avenel, Michelle Kolibas, of Fords, and Corey Kolibas, of Iselin. Lee also adored & delighted in her six great grandchildren, Ryan, Luke, Elias, Calvin, Isabella, and Danica. She will be sadly missed by her loving brother, Gaetano "Tom" De Maio, of Newark, and her cherished sisters, Geraldine and Patrick Esposito, of Randolph, and Gloria Weber, of South Plainfield, and her nieces and nephews, Leonard, Barbara, Neil, Janet, Sharon, Linda, Ronald, Nancy, and Joyce. She was predeceased by her sister, Minnie, and her nephew, Nickie, and her brothers in law, Nick & Ronnie.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 30 and Thursday, May 31 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 1, at 11am at St. Cecelia Church, 45 Wilus Way, Iselin, NJ 08830. Interment will follow to St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
