

Ronald Shabunia, 72, of Old Bridge died peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. Born in Brooklyn, NY he lived in Manalapan before moving to Old Bridge 10 years ago.
Ronald worked in the elevator industry for over 40 years and was an elevator field supervisor for Schindler Elevator in Manhattan, NY for the past 10 years. He was an avid New York Jets fan holding season tickets since their start as the Titans of New York. Ronald loved fishing, bowling, old western movies and re-runs of the series Gunsmoke. He played softball for several years retiring his glove and bat just 4 years ago.
Ronald is predeceased by his beloved parents Alexander and Genevieve (Morowski) Shabunia. He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years Linda (Markowitz) Shabunia, his loving children James Shabunia, Robert Shabunia, Christina Koval, Carolyn Shabunia and Dianna Piscitello; his dear sisters Brenda Faulkner and Carol Snyder; his adored grandchildren Michael Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Jacqueline Koval, Nicholas Koval, Faith Shabunia, Lily Piscitello, Ryan Piscitello and Thomas Piscitello. Also surviving are his cherished great-grandchildren Gianna, Spencer, Mackenzie and Noah.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home 3377 Hwy 9 Old Bridge, NJ 08857 with Funeral Prayer Service beginning at 8pm. Cremation services will be private.
