

Theresa Fortunato, 96, of Old Bridge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she moved to Cheesequake Village Adult Community, Matawan, in 1996. She worked for the City of New York, as a purchasing agent for 22 years, retiring in 1978. She loved ceramics, crocheting, and reading. She was very intelligent, very curious about everything, and a great cook.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Frank J. Fortunato, in 1992, and her brothers, Frank J. Magnifico, Louis Magnifico, and John Magnifico. She is survived by her children: Emily & Carlos Quinones of Parlin, Frank J. Jr. & Vickie Fortunato, of Port St. Lucie, Fl., Eugene & Michele Fortunato, of Staten Island; her grandchildren: Frank & Tracey Fortunato, of Coral Springs, Fl., Gina & Patrick George, of Manhattan, Deena & Ray Reiprecht, of Port St. Lucie, Fl., Lisa Fortunato, of Staten Island; and her great grandchildren: Vincent Fortunato, and Jenna & Joseph Reiprecht.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Route 9, Old Bridge, NJ, and on Wednesday morning from 7:30-8:15am. A Funeral Mass will be offered Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 9 am from St Lawrence RC Church.109 Laurence Pkwy, Laurence Harbor, NJ 08879. Interment will follow to Cemetery of the Resurrection, Staten Island, NY.
