Thomas Ricapito

Thomas Ricapito, 79, of Howell, NJ died at peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 23, 2015. He was born in Giovinazzo, Bari, Italy on October 28, 1935 to the late Alfonso and Nicoletta (Giuliodibari) Ricapito. Thomas came to the U.S. in 1957 and settled in Little Italy, New York. Most recently he lived in Freehold before moving to Howell 5 years ago.

Thomas was a furniture craftsman. He made custom furniture and cabinets for over 50 years for A & S General Contractors in Oakhurst, NJ. He was a member of the St. Anthony Society and was a 3rd degree Knight and lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus . In his leisure, Thomas loved to bowl and belonged to several bowling leagues.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Grace (Camporeale) Ricapito; his loving children Alfonso Ricapito of Wayne, NJ, Tommy (and his wife Dawn) Ricapito of Old Bridge, NJ, Nicoletta Ricapito of Howell, NJ, Maria (and her husband Frank) Saccomanno of Howell, NJ; his dear brother & sisters Isabelle Dennino & family of Brooklyn, NY, Teresa Dagostino & family of Brooklyn, NY, Frank Ricapito & family of Brooklyn, NY and Nick Ricapito & family of Kings Park, NY. Also surviving are his adored grandchildren Thomas & Christine Ricapito of Staten Island, NY, John Ricapito of Staten Island, NY, Samantha Saccomanno of Howell, NJ, Ashley Saccomanno of Howell, NJ, Victoria Grace Saccomanno of Howell, NJ, Nicholas Haines of Carlstadt, NJ and Kana Graziella O’Neill of Howell, NJ.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation Monday, July 27, 2015 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 Highway 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30am Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at St. Veronica’s RC Church 4215 US Highway 9 Howell, NJ 07731. A committal service will directly follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, US Highway 1 North, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
