Adam Robert Thomas Whitaker

Adam Robert Thomas Whitaker, age 43, left us all on Friday, January 2, 2026. He was considered a friend to all who knew him, many considering him as close as a brother. He was deeply involved in The McKendree Senior Living where he had a passion for serving the community and had close personal friendships with many residents and staff members. Adam loved and was beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and loved all sports, coaching his young son in flag football and soccer. Adam was charming, incredibly funny, with a wonderful wit and humor and a winning way that was so endearing. He loved time spent with family and friends and was generally regarded as the "life of the party". He was a devoted and attentive father of two whose main goal was their happiness and well-being. His bright light will never be extinguished as he lives in our hearts and memories.

Adam was preceded by grandfathers John Thomas Freeman and Robert Harold Whitaker, grandmothers Billie Green Freeman and Doris Neta Pryor Whitaker, and father, Keith Dustin Whitaker. He leaves his daughter, Jocelyn Taylor Ellis Whitaker, son, Lindon Griffin William Whitaker, sisters Rebecca Neta Dianne Whitaker and Olivia Claire Snyder, brother Jeramy Lee Snyder, mother, Martha Freeman Whitaker Snyder, and devoted stepfather Robert Glenn Snyder.

The family will host a Gathering of Friends on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 4 - 7 pm and from 1 - 2 pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 pm, at Hermitage Funeral Home's Tulip Grove Chapel with Chaplain Hubert Cunningham Officiating. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service in the Garden of Memories at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138.

Pallbearers will be Josh Morgan, T. J. Suhm, Brandon Pack, Cesar Fort, Jeremy Presson, Jeramy Snyder, Michael Gay and Lance Butler.
