Mrs. Zentz was born January 12, 1928, in Nashville, TN to the late Frank and Christine Hodges. She was an active and devoted member in her church until frailty prevented. Through the decades, those that sat close to her basked in her beautiful alto singing voice. She was still singing praise on her final evening among us. She was a native of the Nashville area, growing up along Brick Church Pike until she married and moved to Old Hickory, where she lived until recently.
Family held a prominent place in her heart from the time she was a child. She was a devoted and loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She made friends instantly and never had a harsh or even critical word about anyone. Though she outlived many of her friends, they all knew she loved them. Her family was blessed to have her, including her sons and daughters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John L. Zentz. Survivors include her son, John Zentz (Valerie); daughters Mary Jane Glasscock (Roy) and Ginny Collier (Frank); grandchildren, Laura Proctor, John M. Zentz, Amanda Zentz, Nick Lumley, David Glasscock, Jenny Oldham, William McMahan, Alice McMahan, Ashley Rich, Wesley and Matthew Collier, and 23 great-grandchildren.
