Allan Neil Welch age 48, of Old Hickory, on February 23, 2021 peacefully at home. He was born on December 28, 1972 in Wilmington, North Carolina and attended John T. Hoggard High School (class of 1991) and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allan Fox Welch and Betty Jo (Hyde) Welch; his maternal grandmother, Ruth (Kemp) Patterson, and his paternal grandparents, C. B. "Peck" Welch and Virginia (Fox) Welch; his paternal aunt, Shirley Ruth Welch, and his paternal uncle, Thomas H. Welch, all of Old Hickory; and his maternal uncle and aunt, Paul K. Hyde (Dallas, Texas) and Evelyn (Gillespie) Hyde Bennett of Nolensville.
He is survived by his sisters, Lisa Welch Silbar (Jeff) of Studio City, California and Laura Welch Butcher (Todd) of Roswell, Georgia; his niece and nephews, Garrett Silbar of San Luis Obispo, California, Natalie Silbar, of Los Angeles, California, and Christopher "Kip" Butcher, of Roswell, Georgia; his first cousins, Paul G. Hyde of Nashville, Scott Welch (Gwen) of Hendersonville, Adam H. Welch (Christy) of Clarksville, and Gregory F. Welch (Cindy) of Franklin; and his godparents, Bill and Genita Cohen of Holden Beach, North Carolina.
An avid golfer, he enjoyed spending time with friends who shared a love for the game. He worked in the golf industry for over 20 years serving on the pro shop staff at Oak Park Country Club in Oak Park, Illinois, and later at Old Hickory Country Club and Riverside Golf. Through his life, Neil was especially grateful for the kindness and support of Jimmy Rager and his family.
A service of remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Neil's memory to the Dr. Betty Jo Hyde Welch Memorial Scholarship at MTSU.
