Almedia Jane Ramsey

She was born on May 22, 1934, in Nashville, Tennessee. She married the love of her life, Lawrence R. Ramsey, on December 24, 1952, and this December, they would have shared 65 wonderful years together. She worked as a receptionist for Clover Bottom. Mrs. Ramsey was very intelligent, strong and spiritual. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cheering on the Tennessee Titans. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother and two sisters.

She is survived by her devoted husband of almost 65 years, Lawrence R. Ramsey; three children, Eugene Ramsey and his wife, Cheryl, Jerry Ramsey and his wife, Brenda, and Loura J. and her husband, Robby Newby; eight grandchildren, Roxanne Ramsey, Susan G. Ramsey, Rachel Gullett and her husband, Patrick, Joshua Rainwater, Erika Green and her husband, Michael, Megan Ramsey, Ryan M. Newby and his wife, Megan, and T.A. Newby; eight great grandchildren, Lily Jane Gullett, Aria Violet Gullett, Radnor Patrick Gullett, Serenity Rainwater, Lukas Green, Jascy Green, Shaun Newby, and Colin Newby, and one great grandchild on the way, Jimmy Newby; her faithful four-legged companion, Rascal, and several other relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Hermitage Funeral Home.

The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Hermitage Funeral Home with Brother Don Loftis officiating.

Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
