Amy grew up in Inez Kentucky, where she was a cheerleader and majorette. After high school, she attended Bowling Green State University, outside of Toledo, Ohio. There she met and married Robert Edward Jones, where he was stationed in the Coast Guard. Robert was transferred to Asbury Park, New Jersey, where they had three (3) children. Upon discharge in 1965, the family moved back to Robert’s hometown of Nashville, Tennessee in 1965. The couple divorced in 1970.
Mrs. Jones worked for Aladdin Industries for thirty-five (35) years. She worked in various departments. Her last ten (10) years at Aladdin were spent as a warehouse manager. Mrs. Jones enjoyed traveling with her family. Her traveling adventures have taken her to Europe, Ireland, Alaska, Yellowstone Park, and a train trip from California to Chicago, to name a few. She also enjoyed reading fiction and mysteries. Spending time in her home and decorating were among her favorite past-times, but family time was at the top of her list.
Mrs. Jones is predeceased by her father, Damon Fugate; mother, Florence Staton; sister, Mary Feasel; and son, Robert E. Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Jami Jackson; son, Scott B. Jones (Jose Macedo); grandson, Jeremy Hopper; granddaughter, Roxanna Guy; grandson, Michael Jones; sisters, Anne Brown and Jean Anderson.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Hermitage Funeral Home from 11am – 12pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12pm in the Tulip Grove Room of the funeral home with Pastor Van Richmond, officiating.
