Angela Marie (Newman) Trisdale, 74, passed away on May 26, 2026. Born on February 28, 1952, Angela was born and raised in Cookeville, TN, and later moved to Nashville, TN in the 1970s—building a life that would be marked by deep devotion, steady kindness, and a humor that could brighten even ordinary days. A resident of Hermitage, Tennessee, Angela was truly beloved and cherished, and her absence will be felt in the everyday moments where her care so naturally lived.
While a single mom, Angela worked in the office at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, meeting life with determination and a quiet strength that never asked for applause. After marrying Daniel C. Trisdale, she became a full-time homemaker once again, pouring her energy into the heart of the home and the people she loved most—always with a generous spirit and a way of making others feel welcome and at ease.
Early in her marriage to Daniel, Angela and Daniel thought outside the box—well ahead of Redbox and BlockBuster—by starting their own video store in Mount Juliet. She also had a gift for being the kind of mom teenagers could trust and adore: she not only allowed her teenagers to attend popular rock concerts, she went right along with them, bringing laughter, presence, and a rare kind of understanding that made family life feel both safe and fun.
Angela’s creativity was a thread woven throughout her life. She was very artistic and always enjoyed drawing and painting; many of her paintings still grace the homes of family members, lasting reminders of her eye for beauty and her patient, thoughtful hands. She also loved to play the piano. And yet, in the selfless way she so often lived, when she became a full-time homemaker she set aside some of her own pleasures so she could focus on the needs of the home and of her children. In later years, she found joy in playing Bingo, collecting Tupperware, and shopping for special finds at yard sales and for antiques—simple pleasures that suited her warm, good-natured way of moving through the world.
A phenomenal cook, Angela loved any opportunity to gather family around a meal, especially during the holidays. She believed strongly in tradition, and in her hands, tradition wasn’t just routine—it was love made visible, passed around the table, and shared again and again.
Angela was preceded in death by her father, Hackie Newman; her mother, Betty Bullock Newman; her loving husband, Daniel C. Trisdale; and her step-grandson, Nathan Thompson. She is survived by her son, Jeff Morgan (Robbin); her daughter, Jennifer Morgan; her son, Jody Trisdale; her step-daughters, Karen Faehr (Ron) and Julie Jennings (Mark); her granddaughter, Laci Morgan; her step-grandchildren Chasity, Christian, Roxy, Trey; her sister, Jayne Barns; her nephews Christopher Barns and Jason Barns. Angela also leaves behind many cousins and extended family members.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends at Hermitage Funeral Home on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A second Gathering of Family & Friends will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Angela’s Life will follow at 12:00 pm in the Tulip Grove Chapel at the funeral home. Following the service, Angela will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Garden of Memories at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
Angela’s life was a celebration in itself—full of love given freely, laughter shared generously, and a devotion that anchored her family through the years. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she treasured, the meals that brought everyone close, the art that still hangs in family homes, and the countless ways she made people feel cared for—simply by being Angela.
