Loré was born on April 16, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, where her parents, Hans and Anneliese, were temporarily living for her father’s work. When she was still a baby, the family returned to Munich, Germany, where Loré spent her childhood. Growing up during World War II, she experienced the hardships and trauma of war, experiences that shaped her strength, grace, and compassion throughout her life. Despite those difficult years, she often spoke fondly of the wonderful childhood memories she shared with her parents, grandparents, and aunt...memories that remained close to her heart throughout her life.
A strikingly beautiful young woman, Loré began modeling in Germany before bravely leaving her beloved mother and Aunt Hilde to pursue new opportunities in North America. She first traveled to Canada, where she worked as a nanny, before continuing to the United States. Upon arriving in the US, she stayed with her Aunt Gretel and Uncle Paul Dunsing, who were instrumental in introducing and preserving German folk dancing in America. Their passion for culture and tradition deeply influenced Loré.
Loré settled for a bit in Chicago, where she continued modeling and built a career in the fashion industry. Her life took her to many places across the United States, each chapter marked by her elegance, charm, and adventurous spirit.
Loré eventually found her true home in Hermitage, Tennessee, where she shared many happy years with her cherished husband, Avery Allender. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and companionship. They were devoted partners for more than 43 years. At home, Loré expressed her love through cooking and baking, delighting family and friends with her meals and treasured recipes. She also found joy in classic films, which reflected her timeless style and appreciation for grace and storytelling.
Those who loved Loré will forever remember her charisma, beauty, kindness, elegance, wit, and unwavering devotion to her family. She now joins in heaven her dear parents and her beloved Aunt Hilde, who preceded her in death.
Loré is survived by her loving husband of more than 43 years, Avery Allender; her devoted sons, Rob Maniaci (Laura) and Mark Maniaci; her beloved daughters, Gisel Maniaci and Christine Eschenfelder (Dan); and her dearest cousin, Thomas Beese. Also mourning her loss are her ten cherished grandchildren and five adored great-grandchildren, each of whom had a special place in her heart, and who will always remember and miss their dearest Omi.
Loré’s legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured, the beauty she brought into the world, and the enduring love she gave so freely.
