Preceded in death by wife Anne. E. Dobson. Survived by wife, Nancy P. Dobson; son, Neil R. Dobson; daughter, Vicki A. (Dwayne)Ford; four grandchildren, Heather A. Heath (Nathan) Johnson, Jeremy L. (Jordan) Dobson, Meagan E. Ford and Morgan S. Ford; two great grandchildren, Ashlyn N. Dobson, Bailee Grace Dobson; brother, Neil R. (Norma) Dobson; sister Joanne (Virgil) Reynolds; step-children, Steward S. Hilton, Shane Bratton, Micki (Micah) Miles; four step-grandchildren, Nathan Stockwell, Austin Bratton, Cole Bratton and Mayson Miles.
Mr. Dobson attended Eakin, Calvert and West Schools in Nashville. He began a military career in August of 1950. He served in the Korean and Viet Nam wars earning twenty-five service awards which included the LEGION of MERIT, a SOLDIERS MEDAL FOR HEROISM, THREE BRONZE STARS, a MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL, TWO COMMENDATIONS MEDALS AND SEVENTEEN AIR MEDALS. After retiring from the U.S. Army in October of 1971, he was employed by DUPONT and REMAY INC. of Old Hickory, TN. He is a member of Hermitage Church of the Nazarene. Reverand Howard Plummer will be officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 28 from 5-8pm at Hermitage Funeral Home. Services will be 3pm Thursday, June 29 in the chapel at Hermitage Funeral Home.
