

Tom was born in Jackson, Tennessee on July 11, 1934. He moved with his family to Donelson, Tennessee and he was the oldest of three siblings. Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. After proudly serving our country in the United States Army, he graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Tom retired from SVERDRUP & PARCEL in Nashville. He was an active member at Maple Hill Church of Christ in Lebanon, were he devoted many volunteer hours to the Benevolence Program and Jail Ministry.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents A.T. and Audie B. Hoffman; a brother, Richard Winfield “Dickey” Hoffman. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Holman Hoffman; daughter, Lisa H. McClellan; sons, Vincent Thomas Hoffman and Richard “Troy” Hoffman; grandson, Christopher Thomas (Amber) McClellan; granddaughter, Alina A. Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Logan, Lucas and Landon McClellan; brother, David Wayne (Kathy) Hoffman and several other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2016 and 10:00-11:00 am, Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Hermitage Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 11:00 am also at Hermitage Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
