Betty Joan Fly

Joan Fly, age 88, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. She and her twin sister, Joyce, were born on October 1, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to parents, Newton and Lillian Webb.

Joan had a long career in telecommunications. She worked for the GENESCO Company more than thirty years. Following that, she moved to First American Bank in telecommunications. She left First American to work for IBM where she worked until she retired. In her retirement, Joan was an avid reader. She especially loved the Harlequin romances and mysteries. She also grew to love her relaxing, long walks on the beach.

Joan is preceded in death by her father, Newton Webb; by her mother, Lillian (Albright) Webb Ramsey; and her twin sister, Joyce Welch. She is survived by her daughters Sherry Fary (Wolcott) and Sandra Cox (Mike); grandsons David Fary, Nick Fary, and Michael Cox (Carolina); great-grandchildren Dylan, Taylor, Cooper, Ellis; great-great-granddaughter, Miley Faith; niece, Kathy; and nephew, Alan.
