Betty Rhea Pruitt

Betty Rhea Pruitt, age 85, of Old Hickory, Tennessee passed peacefully into God's loving arms on Monday, September 20, 2021 in her home with her husband and family blessed to be with her in her final hours.

Betty Rhea is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edward Namon Pruitt, beloved sister and friend, Betsy England, children: Tricia (Lee) Cundiff, Barry (Debbie) Pruitt, Jerry (Liz) Pruitt; grandchildren: Chad (Dominika) Lloyd, Amie (Jerry) Pearson, Whitney (Nick) Akin, Joshua Pruitt, Lauren Pruitt; great-grandchildren: Carson Lloyd, Abby Lloyd, Charlotte Akin, and many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Graham Raymond Lyle and Estelle Devonia Lyle.

Betty Rhea was born on September 19, 1936 in Old Hickory, Tennessee, attended DuPont High School and remained in Old Hickory throughout her life. Betty Rhea and Namon married in 1953 and began their family, bringing three children into the world. Betty Rhea was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, and blessings to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A member of Old Hickory United Methodist Church, Betty Rhea and her husband, Namon, enjoyed a lifetime of wonderful memories and family life.

The family grieves for the loss of her in our lives; we rejoice that she is now with God, with her memory restored, and her joy abounding.

A visitation for Betty Rhea will be held Friday, September 24, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1:00 PM with services being led by Brother Jim Norton at 2:00 PM.

Flowers will be accepted by the family but if you wish to make a charitable donation you may do so to either Caris Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
