

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford June Meeks and Dorothy Jeanette Batson Meeks. She is survived by her husband, Ray Phelps and sons, Kevin (LaNora) Phelps of Murfreesboro and Jason (Amy) Phelps of Lafayette; and grandchildren Jacob, Stella, Ashlyn, and Sidda Phelps.
Throughout her life, Carol devoted herself to her family, her work, and her faith. While her boys were young, she lovingly served as a homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing home. She later worked alongside her mother in their business, "Carol’s Country Corner", where they crafted custom curtains and handmade items. Known for her creativity and talent, she had a true gift for crafting and took great pride in her work.
Carol went on to have a successful career with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, where she served as Personnel Director. She retired after many years of dedicated service, leaving behind a reputation for professionalism, integrity, and care for others.
A woman of strong faith, Carol loved the Lord and cherished her family deeply. She also enjoyed fellowship and fun as a member of the Red Hat Society, where she was known to bring joy and laughter wherever she went.
She will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, faith, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.
