Chris NeSmith, 70, passed away on June 28, 2024. Born in Mooreland, Oklahoma, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1953, to Clyde Merlin Triplett and Frances Marian White Triplett, Chris’s early years were marked by her family’s adventurous spirit, living for a time in Ethiopia before settling in Tifton, Georgia.
In 1976, Chris married Thomas Ashley NeSmith, beginning a loving partnership that spanned nearly five decades. Together, they made a home across various parts of the United States as Tom’s career progressed, with Chris always creating a welcoming and nurturing environment for their family. She had a passion for gardening and crafts and took immense joy in spending time with her granddaughters.
Chris is survived by her husband, Tom; her children, Lori Michelle NeSmith and Thomas Andrew NeSmith; and her granddaughters, Makayla, Alyssa, and Autumn. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mari Lynn Cheatham (Mike Adkinson), Marsha Wilbanks (Don), and Barbara Roberts (Chuck), as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138. Family and friends are invited to gather at 2:00 PM for a visitation before the service.

Chris’s warmth, creativity, laughter, and dedication to her family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. Her loving spirit and the joy she brought to those around her will be deeply missed.
