Christopher Todd Wall, 56, of Tennessee, passed away suddenly on September 27, 2026, at Summit Medical Center. Chris, or “Bubba” as he was affectionately known by many members of his family, was born on May 7, 1970, in Madison, Tennessee.
Chris was a private and sometimes guarded person, but those who knew him well knew just how much was behind that exterior. He was extraordinarily funny, sarcastic, quick-witted, and, once you got him talking, equipped with very little filter. He was intelligent and endlessly curious about the world, with an impressive store of knowledge and an occasional fondness for a good conspiracy theory.
More importantly, Chris was generous, patient, and deeply loyal to the people he loved. He was quietly sentimental, holding onto birthday cards, family photographs, and other reminders of the people who mattered to him. He was often the first person willing to help someone else and one of the last to ask for help himself. Chris faced and overcame many difficult chapters throughout his life, and while he did not always show his feelings easily, when he loved someone, he loved deeply.
A natural fit for someone who could seemingly figure out how to fix just about anything, Chris founded Music City Handyman Services. His work brought out the best in him. He genuinely enjoyed meeting his clients, talking with them, solving their problems, and getting to know the people he worked for. Many of those clients became an important part of his life.
Chris had an eclectic collection of interests. He loved Star Wars, horror movies, classic rock, and classic cars. He also loved his Mustang. He had a habit of collecting whatever happened to catch his attention. One of his most recent finds was a Frankenstein salt-and-pepper shaker set, the sort of wonderfully odd treasure that was completely Chris.
Chris is survived by his mother, Nancy (Mike) Nitsch; his brother, Brittan (Ashley) Mangrum; his nieces and nephews, Laura, Audrey, Charlotte, Nicholas, and Oliver Mangrum; his aunts, Teresa (Bill) Utley and Diane Webb; his uncle, Charles (Brenda) Wall; his cousin Dana (Chris) Nipper, with whom he shared a sibling-like bond; and cousins Shauna (Charles) Shrum, Seth (Heather) Utley, and Erin (Brian) Anderson. He also leaves behind many friends and clients whose lives were made a little easier and brighter, and filled with a little more knowledge and humor, simply by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Lou (Potts) Wall; his grandfather, Ernest Wall; and his great-grandparents, Doug and Gladys Potts.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Friday, October 2, from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Hermitage Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Chris' Life at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Potts Cemetery in Primm Springs, Tennessee, where Chris will be laid to rest beside his grandmother and great-grandparents.
