Courtney was born on May 11, 1997 into the loving care of parents, Jennifer and Randy Queen and adoring sister Kelsey Queen. Courtney was born with a congenital heart defect and later diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder known as DiGeorge Syndrome. Although Courtney had a very extensive medical history and spent a collective year of her life at Vanderbilt’s Children Hospital, she loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Courtney attended McGavock High School, where she was a sophomore and a member of the school’s bowling team. She was a member in the Hermitage United Methodist Church youth group. Courtney had a passion for singing and dancing, which was evident in her performances as a member of the Music City Miracle Choir and countless performances at home which she introduced and filmed herself.
Reflecting on one of Courtney’s favorite things, peace signs, it is evident she understood it’s meaning more than most. Courtney desired peace among everyone; always smiling and everyone’s number one fan. She loved life and had such an unconditional love for her family and friends.
Courtney is survived by: her parents, Jennifer and Randy Queen; her older sister, Kelsey Queen; grandparents: Peggy and Glen Moore, of McMinnville, TN; J.R. and Tena Queen, of Sweetwater, TN; and great-grandmother, Edna Jacobs, of Winchester, TN. Courtney was supported through love and prayers by aunts, uncles, cousins, and her amazing extended family.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4th at Hermitage United Methodist Church (205 Belinda Drive, Hermitage, TN 37076) followed by funeral services at 6:30 PM. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 5th at Bascom Methodist Church Cemetery (5311 Vervilla Road, Morrison, TN 37357).
